JROTC

The JROTC program at Stephens County High School (SCHS) is a citizenship program where young men and women have an opportunity to learn patience, perseverance, and responsibility.  Through character development courses, physical fitness competitions, and a variety of community service opportunities, Cadets build strong relationships with fellow students and their Army Instructors. They also learn invaluable life skills and are ready for a world of future possibilities.

Join the SCHS JROTC program to immerse yourself in values and respect and learn more about:

  • Teamwork

  • Selfless Service

  • American History

The 2023-2024 STAR Student and STAR Teacher were recognized during a Stephens County BOE meeting by SCHS Principal Jessica Simmons. STAR Student Garvin Robinson plans to attend Georgia Tech in the Fall 2024 to major in Mechanical Engineering. He chose Lt. Col (Retired) David Priatko, JROTC Senior Army Instructor at SCHS, as his STAR Teacher.

SCHS JROTC students compete against other high schools in the Raider Competitions. As Raiders, they showcase their physical fitness and mental toughness.

Funded by the U.S. Army, Cadet uniforms are provided free. Students do not have to be interested in joining the military to participate in the JROTC program.
